When I recommend something is because I have used it, it also means that it is something that I really like. Usually I reserve my opinions when I am asked about something that I have not used or have little experience in.

With that said, it really infuriates me when you have companies like Twitpic acting like this. I started using Posterous about 1 year ago, it was my last attempt as blogging. For the longest time I always wanted to keep a online journal of my ramblings. Posterous did the job just fine, whats best it integrates pretty well with Facebook and Twitter which is a good plus.

You migth be asking where I am going with this. Well let me cut to the chase If facebook was to go away tomorrow what would happen to all you stuff? Would you be able to export your friends information so you can stay in touch with them? Will you be able to take all your pictures with you? Keep you  eye out for the second part of this post. For the mean time think about it.

Update:

Here is another Blog posting talking about this mess. Services like Twitpic piggy back off Twitter yet when people want to move on to other things they decide to pull something out of Microsoft's playbook. I was under the impression that services like these promoted the so call "Open Web"
